NASA Provides Assistance to Trapped Chilean Miners

Responding to a request received through the U.S. Department of State from the Chilean minister of health, NASA will provide advice in nutritional and behavioral sciences to assist miners trapped at the San Jose gold and copper mine near Copiapo, Chile. A NASA team consisting of four individuals – two physicians, a psychologist and an engineer – plan to travel to Chile next week.
